Cal beat a good UC Davis team 31-13 at home on August 31, narrowly missing the win as a 20.5-point favorite while the under (57) was slamming in.

This will be the 9th meeting all-time and will break a 4-4 tie in the series. San Diego State won the last meeting on September 10, 2016, 45-40. Cal won the last meeting in Berkeley, defeating the Aztecs 35-7 on September 12, 2015.
