Official Update: Boca Raton Police Investigating Swatting Incident at Town Center Mall

Boca Raton, FL – According to an official press release from the Boca Raton Police Department at 10:30 p.m., police responded to a threatening call from a caller who called shortly after 4 p.m. today. The caller stated that he was parked on the north side of the Town Center Mall lot at 6000 W Glades Road, was armed with guns and bombs, and expressed a desire to kill.

The police quickly found the rental car and cordoned off the area. The bomb disposal team was sent to the scene as a precaution. Information from the car rental company brought the vehicle with Cody Conroda Twitch streamer with many fans. Conrod was found at the mall and held for questioning while the mall was evacuated.

Conrod cooperated fully with the investigation and suggested that the call may have been made by an unknown bystander as part of a hoax commonly referred to as Hitbecause he was broadcasting a live stream from the mall at the time of the incident.

After a thorough search, bomb disposal personnel evacuated the rental vehicle and found no suspicious items. No physical threat was identified at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

Boca Raton Police continue to investigate the situation and advise the public of the seriousness of such pranks, which unnecessarily consume police resources and endanger public safety.
