Two accused of stealing a postal worker’s keys

ROCHESTER, NY – A Rochester man and woman are accused of robbing a postal worker.

According to federal prosecutors, Syasia McCullough and Malik McCray stole a set of postal keys from a mail carrier on Lake Avenue in June 2023.

They were found during a traffic stop a few days later, along with several cell phones, ski masks, and other people's credit cards and checks.

When Postal Service investigators searched McCullough's phone, they found a text chat describing the robbery the day of the robbery and explaining how they would use the keys to open what investigators believe were mailboxes.

McCullough and McCray are charged with mail theft, robbery and conspiracy.
