Report: Kansas City Chiefs and Peyton Hendershot fined for incident against Baltimore Ravens

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The Kansas City Chiefs have been fined $100,000 for a sideline altercation involving tight end Peyton Hendershot and the Baltimore Ravens during the teams' season-opening game on Sept. 5, a source confirmed to ESPN on Saturday.

Hendershot, who was inactive during the game and was on the Chiefs sideline, shoved Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith after Smith chased Patrick Mahomes off the field.

News of the Chiefs' fine was first reported by the NFL Network, which said the league disciplined the team for violating a rule that prohibits “unnecessary physical contact, taunting or verbal abuse, threatening or abusive language or gestures toward inactive players.”

Hendershot was also fined an undisclosed amount, the source confirmed to ESPN.

Hendershot was acquired by the Chiefs shortly before the start of the regular season in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
