Tragic incident: Bengaluru student commits suicide after bicycle dispute

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 20-year-old student named Ayyappa took his own life (suicide) in Bengaluru after his mother allegedly refused to buy him a new bike. The incident took place on Wednesday in the Hennur police station premises. Ayyappa was a second year B.Sc. student at a private college and was a resident of Thanisandra.

The student's mother, who has been working as a housekeeper since his father's death six years ago, had managed to save Rs 50,000 for the bike. However, Ayyappa was unaware of her financial sacrifice. Despite her efforts and the financial burden, he continued to urge her to buy the bike as he felt particularly left out since his friends had theirs.

According to police reports, Ayyappa was found hanging from the ceiling when his mother returned home from work late in the afternoon. His body was subsequently sent to Ambedkar Hospital for postmortem. Investigations are ongoing and further details are awaited.
