St. Vincent: 53-year-old woman released on $20,000 bail for drug offense

A St. Vincent woman pleaded not guilty when she appeared in court charged with possession of a controlled drug, conspiracy and drug trafficking.

The accused is Patricia Solomon, a 53-year-old unemployed resident of Frenches.

According to the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), last Wednesday a team of officers from the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) and the Narcotics Unit (Drug Squad) conducted a search of a residence in Frenches where Solomon was arrested.

She was found with 1,075 grams of cocaine and charged with possession of a controlled drug, conspiracy and drug trafficking.

Solomon appeared in Mesopotamia District Court on Friday where she pleaded not guilty. She was released on $20,000.00 bail and surety bond.

Solomon was ordered by the court to surrender all her travel documents and report to the central police station every Monday and Thursday between 6am and 6pm. Warning signs have also been placed at all entry and exit points.

The case was adjourned and referred to the Serious Crimes Court for a hearing on 17 September 2024.
