Latest injury report of the Giants Commanders Week 2: Malik Nabers “good” for Sunday

The New York Giants received some good news after Thursday afternoon's scare. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Friday morning that rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is “fine” and there are no concerns about his availability for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders.

Nabers appeared on the injured list Thursday afternoon when knee soreness limited him from practice. Suddenly there was concern that the Giants would be without their most dangerous weapon in what could be a crucial game. Fortunately, those concerns were quickly put to rest.

Daboll also said that wide receiver Darius Slayton, who is in concussion protocol, is “trending in the right direction.” Slayton practiced fully on Friday and while that's not a formal confirmation that he will play Sunday — that's up to an independent neurologist to determine — it's encouraging.

In other news, starting linebacker Micah McFadden has participated in full practice and appears to be on track to play.

Washington Commanders cornerback Emmanuel Forbes will be out for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his thumb.

Update: The Giants placed K Graham Gano on the injured report on Saturday with a groin injury. His appearance on the report is not tied to a game status, suggesting he will play.
