Trump responds after shooting: “I am alive and well”

“There was a shooting near me, but before the rumor mill gets out of control, I want you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND I AM FINE. Nothing will stop me. I will NEVER SURRENDER!” he wrote in an email sent by the campaign.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident. The Secret Service shot a person on the golf course because they suspected him of possessing a long gun. The suspect fled and was later stopped and taken into custody by Martin County police officers.

“The FBI has responded to West Palm Beach, Florida, and appears to be investigating an attempted assassination of former President Trump,” the FBI said in a statement.
