Alliance woman arrested for attempted first-degree murder

An Alliance woman was arrested for attempted murder after a man suffered multiple stab wounds in an incident.

Police Chief David Leavitt said that on Saturday, September 14, at around 10 p.m., officers were called to 2652 Marvin Circle for a reported assault.

Upon arrival, investigators found a male victim with numerous stab wounds to his arms and neck and learned that the attack occurred during an argument with the mother of his child, 24-year-old Valerie Cerny, at Yellowstone 113.

Leavitt said that when questioned by police, Ms Cerny admitted that she had stabbed Mr King repeatedly during a heated argument and that her intention was to kill him.

Ms. Cerny is currently in the Box Butte County Jail awaiting her first court date for attempted first-degree murder in connection with a domestic violence incident.

Leavitt said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated and released from Box Butte General Hospital.
