Live list of winners: “Shōgun” and “The Bear” could win big at the awards ceremony

Dan and Eugene Levy, the first father-son duo to host the Emmys, brought new energy to the 76th Emmy Awards, and their opening monologue seemed to go down well with the star-studded audience.

The riskiest joke of Schitt’s Creek Stars had to do with The bear's record-breaking comedy series nominations.

“In the true spirit of The bearwe're not going to joke,” Eugene joked. (Many people online seem to think the show should have been nominated as a drama.)

Be that as it may, The bear Star and Emmy winner Ayo Edebiri laughed at this line.

The Levys also asked the stars to keep their speeches short.

“It can only be described as a cruel joke: two Canadians are responsible for pitting you against each other tonight,” said Eugene.

“Confrontations in general cause fear, especially for my 77-year-old father,” Dan added.

“I don't like this,” Eugene agreed. “If you want to say something meaningful, emotional, or, God forbid, political, keep it brief, because the pressure on me alone -.”

“Having to cut them off could kill this man,” Dan said.
