Britt Baker accused of having a “big ego” after involvement in AEW backstage drama

The AEW locker room was in the spotlight this month due to a heated altercation between Britt Baker and MJF. This incident caused a lot of buzz among wrestling fans and industry insiders, and now Baker has been accused of having a huge ego due to her involvement in AEW's drama.

The conflict began when Britt Baker made comments about MJF and his girlfriend Alicia Atout on the July 17 episode of Dynamite. Atout relayed these comments to MJF, which sparked a heated argument. The tension became so high that even Will Ospreay stepped in and tried to diffuse the situation by talking to Baker.

The situation escalated when MJF, visibly upset, punched a wall backstage, highlighting the seriousness of the argument. Despite the drama backstage, Baker continued to appear on television.

A human resources investigation took place following the incident, which resulted in a brief suspension for Baker. The investigation also looked into claims of a verbal altercation between Baker and Atout, during which Baker allegedly demanded Atout's removal from the women's locker room. Baker's suspension ended when she reappeared via video on the August 7 episode of AEW.

During an appearance on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan explained that Britt Baker has caused trouble behind the scenes in the past, and mentioned that she was suspended due to ongoing tensions with others in AEW. According to a source, Britt publicly insulted Alicia Atout in front of a large group, with Alicia present and hearing the remarks. This led to a confrontation where Britt yelled at MJF and his girlfriend.

“Of course she's in trouble, we've heard a million stories about her. You know she got suspended – she wouldn't have been suspended if she wasn't in trouble. So, this person that was there said that, what's this girl's name, Brit, called – remember Alicia Atout? In front of, and not privately, but in front of a whole group of people, right? And Alicia was there, so she could hear it. I mean, give me a break, how stupid can you be? Obviously she went and told her husband, and he got mad. OK, but this Brit kept yelling at her.”

Konnan was then asked if Britt Baker was having trouble with Mercedes Mone following their AEW All In match. Konnan pointed out that Britt Baker's ego was a recurring issue and called her out on it. He mentioned how she attacked MJF despite him trying to downplay the situation and how her actions caused further tension, furthering her reputation as a difficult person backstage.

“I heard, yeah, we all know about Brit Baker – she has a huge ego. She ended up getting suspended for yelling at M, even though MJF tried to go public and say, 'Do you think I would really yell at her? Do you think I would do that? Do you think I would do that?' All that happened. She went in there, yelled at him, she yelled at his girlfriend. He talked about the girlfriend in public, she found out, he found out – she has a huge ego.”

Britt Baker and Adam Cole have also reportedly ended their relationship. Regardless, Baker has built a reputation that many people wouldn't want, and that's not likely to change anytime soon.
