The rule of Dravidian parties has spoiled the future generation of TN by failing to curb the drug scourge, says H. Raja

BJP's state coordination committee chief H. Raja on Sunday criticised the ruling DMK government for its failure to curb the drug scourge in the state.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Raja said, “The rule of Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu has corrupted and degenerated the future generation of the state. The DMK is not fit to rule the state. It may create a new wing of the party for drug peddlers.”

Referring to Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin's appeal to his party members to work hard to win at least 200 out of 234 seats in the 2026 assembly elections, Mr Raja said the DMK will not win even 20 seats. “In the past, the party has won seats in single digits. During this time, Karunanidhi [DMK patriarch] was afraid to enter the Assembly and gave up his seat as a member of parliament. This will happen again in the future.”

Responding to a question on Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi president Thol Thirumavalavan's demand for “power-sharing” in the state, Mr. Raja said, “The demand for power-sharing in the state is fair and the Tamil Nadu BJP supports this demand.” He said that even at the central government, the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had led a coalition government between 1999 and 2004.
