Fulton County murder suspect arrested after officer observed him walking down street, police said

CLAYTON COUNTY, Georgia.A simple warning not to walk on the street led Clayton County police to locate a man who officials said was wanted for murder.

According to authorities, an officer was enforcing traffic laws near Tara Boulevard and Dixon Road on August 30 when he noticed a man walking in the road.

The officer stopped the man, identified as TraZion Brown, to warn him about the dangers of crossing the street outside of the crosswalk.

After checking Brown's name with the Georgia Crime Information Center, the officer was surprised to learn that the man was wanted by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office for a 2017 murder.

According to court records, Brown was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Gregory Gallishaw, a father of four, at a Fulton County apartment complex.

Brown was taken into custody. He is now in the Fulton County Jail and is charged with murder, first-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

“Thanks to Officer Freeman's proactive actions regarding traffic enforcement and pedestrian safety, officers were able to arrest a homicide suspect and remove him from the community without incident or injury,” Clayton County Police told FOX 5.
