2 people arrested after fight at Big E’s – NBC Boston

Two people were arrested and several others injured in a brawl at the Big E fairground this weekend.

West Springfield police said several Big E patrol officers, Hampden County Sheriff's officers and West Springfield detectives were called to Industrial Avenue at the fairgrounds around 5 p.m. Saturday for a large fight with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers found multiple victims with various injuries, some requiring medical attention and even hospitalization, and a large group of people, some already known to police, fled the area and the fairgrounds onto Memorial Avenue.

Police arrested and took into custody James Stanley of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and Levi Stanley of Amherst, New Hampshire, in the area of ​​Gate 8 on Memorial Avenue. After an on-scene investigation, they were charged with disturbing the peace, malicious damage to property valued at over $1,200, and assault.

After being taken to the West Springfield Police Department, police said it was learned that James Stanley had stolen items from at least one of the victims who were attacked. He was also charged with unarmed robbery.

“The Big E” opened on Friday and runs until September 29th.
