His hard work and talent paid off when he placed 9th among youth bull riders in the world at the Wrangler YBR (Youth Bull Riders) competition.

Honors and memories

One Facebook user wrote, “I still can't believe it. Walker just texted me and told me. I'm at a loss for words. Prayers for the Weise family; he was a role model to all. Young and old. Now you're riding in that rodeo in heaven. My prayers are with JD Weise, Amanda Weise and his sister. And I pray that God puts his arms around you. I love you Dalton Weise, see you soon buddy.”

Another tribute read: “Never in my life did I think I would have to write a post like this. Dalton 'Monkey' Weise was every bit the star and hero he aspired to be. Since birth he was always the smallest kid with the biggest heart. There was never a mountain too high for him. From football to MMA to being one of the BEST junior bull riders in the WORLD he excelled in everything he did. Tragically last night was the last time this world held his precious soul in its hands. I'm a wreck but I will always be a proud Uncle D. I will miss you cowboy.”

Another mourner wrote, “My heart has been so heavy and it is hard to put into words what I have been feeling since learning of the passing of Dalton Weise earlier this week. He was such an incredible young man and talented bull rider. The few times I had the opportunity to meet him, he was always so kind and polite. His courage, determination and the fire he had for this lifestyle will stay with me forever. My condolences go out to his family, friends and everyone in our rodeo community who is feeling this loss right now.”
