SWAT team stops barricaded gunman who shot at police in Farmington Hills – Daily Tribune

A man who reportedly barricaded himself in a Farmington Hills home on Sunday and fired several shots at arriving police officers – hitting both houses and cars – was stopped by a SWAT team sniper who returned a shot, officials reported.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said it all stemmed from a domestic violence incident at a residence near Middlebelt and 12 Mile Road. A woman fled the home and officers attempted to stop the suspect, who then opened fire with a rifle, according to the sheriff's office.
