Following an onstage argument between the band's frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro over the weekend, Jane's Addiction has officially canceled the remainder of their tour.

They announced the news in a statement on X.

“To all fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take a break as a group,” the statement reads. “As a result, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour.”

Fans have been instructed to request a refund for their tickets from their point of purchase or the ticket website they used.

Navarro also posted a statement on Instagram about the cancellation.

“Due to an ongoing pattern of behavior and the mental health issues of our lead singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to cancel the current U.S. tour,” he wrote.

“Our concern for his personal health and safety, as well as our own, leaves us no choice. We hope he finds the help he needs,” he continued.

Navarro concluded his comments by saying, “We deeply regret that we are unable to accommodate all of our fans who have already purchased tickets. We see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably enable us to deliver a great performance every night.”

A source told Fox News Digital: “Perry is heartbroken over his actions. He realizes he waited too long to put his well-being first. His exhaustion and the strain it has placed on both his physical and mental health has gone too far.”

They added: “He had the best intentions when he went on tour with the band and feels he has let his fans and family down.”

Last Friday, a fan captured video of Farrell punching Navarro onstage during her show in Boston.

Farrell, 65, lunged at Navarro, 57, with all his strength. The guitarist appeared to put his hands on the frontman's chest, apparently in an attempt to stop him from moving on.

During the tense confrontation, Farrell appeared to yell at Navarro until he punched the guitarist.

Security guards quickly broke up the fight, telling Farrell to “stop” while they restrained him to prevent further attacks on the guitarist. Navarro grabbed Farrell by the arm and angrily tried to attack the guitarist again.

During the incident, the venue went dark and the show ended abruptly.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Farrell said: “This weekend was incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, my fans, family and friends for my behavior during Friday's show. Unfortunately, my breakdown resulted in inexcusable behavior and I take full responsibility for how I handled the situation.”

“There was obviously a lot of tension and animosity between the members… the magic that made the band so dynamic. Well, the dynamite was ignited. Perry tackled Dave and body checked him,” she explained on Instagram.

Lau added that the argument was due to Perry's patience running out as his health was not in the best shape before the band's performance. He had been “suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the front row started complaining to Perry and berating him that the band [playing] too loud and they couldn't hear him, Perry freaked out.”

She also wrote that Eric Avery, bass guitarist and co-songwriter of Jane's Addiction, “won the fight” after putting Farrell “in a headlock” and punching him three times.

“Perry was a mad animal for the next half hour – he finally didn't calm down, he just broke down and cried and cried.”
