Bryan woman arrested for threatening with meat cleaver

A Bryan woman was arrested Sunday night on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening a person with a meat cleaver.

Flora Juarez, 64, was arrested after Bryan police arrived at the scene in the 300 block of W. Duncan Street for a dispute involving a weapon.

According to a probable cause report, a verbal argument ensued between Juarez and another person, and she ordered the person to leave her home. According to the victim's statement, Juarez grabbed a cleaver from the kitchen and threatened them by swinging the cleaver up and down their throats.

The police found the cleaver in a kitchen drawer and secured it as evidence.

Juarez is being held at the Brazos County Detention Center on $30,000 bail.

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a second-degree felony punishable by two to twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
