Sean “Diddy” Combs arrested after grand jury indictment, lawyer says

(Gray News) – Music mogul and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in Manhattan on Monday after a grand jury indicted him, according to his attorney and prosecutors.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement that federal agents had arrested Combs.

“We expect to be able to release the indictment tomorrow morning and will be able to say more then,” Williams said.

The arrest came after several female artists and producers made allegations and lawsuits against the music mogul for nearly a year, accusing him of sexual misconduct.

One of the most notorious lawsuits was filed by Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura.

Ventura claimed that Combs dragged her into his “flashy, fast-paced, drug-fueled lifestyle” shortly after she met him and signed to his label in 2005 – she was 19 and he was 37. Combs categorically denied these allegations.

Ventura and Combs settled the lawsuit one day after it was filed.

In May 2024, surveillance video was also released showing Combs attacking Cassie. In March 2016, Combs was observed repeatedly punching Ventura in the hallway of a Los Angeles hotel.

Combs' problems continued when federal authorities raided two homes associated with him in March.

Law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that Department of Homeland Security agents gained access to properties in Miami and Los Angeles based on search warrants issued by a New York federal court.

Officials said the raids were part of an ongoing investigation into possible human trafficking for sexual exploitation, as well as the illegal trade in drugs and firearms.

Due to the sexual abuse allegations, Combs also resigned as chairman of Revolt.
