Weekly Weather Planner: Overall dry skies in the Louisville area, but tropical problems expected

A warm and dry week is expected in Louisville, but a potential tropical system could approach the region mid-week

METEOROLOGIST SUSANNE HORGAN. AND GOOD MORNING. WE'RE COMING UP TO 613 THIS MORNING. WE'RE HAVING A BEAUTIFUL START TO THE DAY. DRY SKIES, WARM TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED FOR THIS MONDAY. WE'RE EXPECTING THOSE HIGHS TO RISE TO AROUND 90 DEGREES. THAT'S WELL ABOVE OUR NORMAL HIGH OF 82 DEGREES. AND WHILE WE CERTAINLY NEED SOME RAIN, MUCH OF THE WLKY VIEWING AREA IS DRY. WE WILL NOT SEE RAIN TODAY, BUT WE AT LEAST HAVE A CHANCE OF IT TOMORROW. Temperatures this morning will warm from 15 to 21 degrees Celsius by 10 a.m. As we move into the afternoon hours, the high temperature we're forecasting in the metro area will be 32 degrees Celsius. If you're outside the metro area, temperatures will likely be in the 27 to 30 degrees Celsius range right now. We're not seeing any rain on our WLKY Doppler radar, but I want to point out that we have a few things happening. First, we still have what's left of Francine, the Category 2 hurricane we saw last week. IT'S ALSO BRINGING US SOME RAIN ON SATURDAY MORNING FOR OUR SOUTHERN AND WESTERN COMMUNITIES, BUT WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT FOR OUR UPCOMING FORECAST IS THIS HERE, THIS LOW PRESSURE AREA THAT'S MOVING UP TO THE NORTH, AND WHEN IT DOES IT'S GOING TO INCREASE OUR CLOUD COVER, AND IT'S ALSO GOING TO BRING US THE CHANCE OF SEEING SOME RAIN. SO WE'LL LEAVE IT FOR YOU TO TIME. YOU CAN SEE THE MORNING HOURS THAT ARE GOOD FOR YOU TODAY. WE'LL BE ENJOYING FULL SUNSHINE ONCE WE BRING IT IN TONIGHT. SOME TRANSIENT CLOUDS ARE EXPECTED, THE CLOUD COVER WILL REALLY THICKEN UP TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. AND THEN ON TUESDAY WE'RE EXPECTING SOME SPOTS OF RAIN DURING THE DAY. THIS IS NOT DROUGHTY RAIN FOR US. WE'RE TALKING SPOTS OF LIGHT RAIN. NOTHING THAT LOOKS PARTICULARLY HEAVY AND WE'RE NOT EXPECTING SEVERE WEATHER. ON WEDNESDAY WE'LL THINK WE'RE EXPECTING SOME SPOTS OF RAIN AND SOME CLOUDS AGAIN. BY THE WAY, THE FAR WEST YOU ARE, THE GREATER CHANCE YOU HAVE TO STAY DRY. TEMPERATURES ARE RIGHT IN THE 20S. THE AIR IS VERY DRY WITH DEW POINTS IN THE MID 13S. So while our temperatures will soar, it won't be overly humid. Right now it's 16 degrees in Valley Station. In Clark County, Indiana, we're at low 15 degrees, a little further north in areas of Jackson County. For our friends in Seymour, temperatures will be in the high 15s, further south in Elizabethtown, low 15s. Our forecast is calling for us to get as high as 32 degrees today. Here's a look at the seven-day forecast. There's a chance of some showers on your Tuesday. SOME MIXED RAIN ON WEDNESDAY. AS WE APPROACH YOUR WEEKEND, TEMPERATURES WILL RISE AGAIN. WE WILL BE AT 90 O
