Circle of Brotherhood meets with Miami-Dade Police Director to discuss Tyreek Hill incident

FL. – The traffic stop at Tyreek Hill in front of Hard Rock Stadium is still fresh in the minds of many people in South Florida.

This includes members of the citizen activist group Circle of Brotherhood, who had a private meeting with Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie Daniels on Monday.

“We train police officers, and I thought this situation could have been completely avoided,” said Lyle Muhammad of Circle of Brotherhood. “They immediately released the footage, immediately placed the officer they're questioning on leave, and the investigation is ongoing. I think it was a very good meeting. We're confident they're doing the right thing.”

The Dolphins star called for the firing of the Miami-Dade police officer who forced him to the ground.

Officer Daniel Torres has been with the MDPD for 27 years and is currently on leave.

His employee profile includes numerous commendations, but also allegations of violence. He has been disciplined ten times.

“I haven't had a chance to talk to our brother Tyreek yet, but I think it's an honor for everyone to recognize where they could have improved,” Muhammad said.

The fraternity's involvement in the department is nothing new. Since 2018, they have been conducting training exercises with police officers and cadets to improve relations, particularly with the black and brown communities.

“Sometimes spectacular situations arise to draw attention to problems and issues that really need to be addressed,” Muhammad said.
