Fans praise “phenomenal” Manningcast commentary on Falcons’ game-winning touchdown against Eagles at MNF: “Great way to watch the game”

Despite recent concerns about low ratings, fans of the game still seem to enjoy tuning in to watch the “Manningcast” edition of Monday Night Football.

The alternate broadcast of ESPN's signature football product was available for Monday night's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.

Brothers Peyton and Eli Manning were joined by a number of guests, including former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.

The three retired signal callers were all present and watched as Atlanta put together a strong final drive that ended in a touchdown with 30 seconds left and led to a 22-21 victory.

A clip of the entire final ride was shared on social media – fans reacted positively to the broadcast.

“This is so much fun to watch!” wrote one fan of the broadcast on Twitter.

Another said: “This is a great way to watch the game.”

“ManningCast is truly the best thing on TV right now,” said another fan of the show. “Watching three top-notch quarterbacks break a game-winning 2-minute drive is amazing.”

One person who admitted not having seen the show said, “I don't watch it… but I think I'll start. That was really cool.”

These tweets may be positive, but they come at a time when the Manningcast needs viewers more than ever.

According to Sports Business Daily, the show's debut reached an all-time low of 872,000 viewers in the first week of the 2024 season.

This represents a 43 percent decrease from Week 1 of the 2023 season and represents only 4.2 percent of this week's total audience of 20.5 million viewers.

This also happened at a time when a broadcast dispute was ongoing between ESPN and DirecTV, which has since been settled.
