MACOMB COUNTY, Michigan. – A Grosse Pointe man was charged with intentionally crashing a billboard into a delivery truck several times.

William Michael-Louis Matouk II is accused of intentionally driving a Chevrolet Express van into a placarded box truck near Mack Avenue and Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods on June 30, 2024. He allegedly backed up and struck the truck two more times before fleeing the scene of the accident.

According to the Macomb County District Attorney's Office, the driver of the billboard truck suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.

Matouk was accused of:

  • Failure to stop after a collision – an offense punishable by a 90-day fine

“We take this case very seriously. The defendant put lives in danger by allegedly using his vehicle as a weapon, and it is fortunate that the injuries sustained were not more serious. We are committed to ensuring justice is done,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
