Crozier fire: Jason Robinette of Placerville charged with arson

In early August, the Crozier Fire devastated nearly 2,000 acres of land.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – The man accused of starting the Crozier Fire in El Dorado County is now in custody.

According to Cal Fire's Amador-El Dorado Unit, officers arrested 48-year-old Jason Robinette of Placerville on Monday.

The fire broke out in the early morning hours of August 6 and destroyed nearly 2,000 acres of land in El Dorado County.

According to Cal Fire, investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set and Cal Fire law enforcement has issued a search warrant.

Cal Fire says it made 91 arson-related arrests between early 2024 and late August.
