Drug dealer robbed at gunpoint in apartment

One of the two men who lured a drug dealer into an apartment complex on Wednesday afternoon to rob him at gunpoint has been arrested, police said.

Maricopa police arrested 21-year-old Christopher D. Mosley-Coner on charges of armed robbery and first-degree trafficking in stolen property, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by InMaricopa.

Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Copa Flats apartment complex on North Porter Road at 12:44 p.m.

Mosley-Coner allegedly arranged to meet the victim to buy marijuana. He got into the dealer's car and chatted with him briefly before calling an unknown accomplice and using the code word “it's green.”

The victim told police that Mosley-Coner's accomplice got out of his car, pulled out a gun, cocked the car and demanded, “I need everything.”

According to the police report, Mosley-Coner and his accomplice stole the victim's weed and cell phone before everyone fled. Police found the cell phone in another neighborhood after tracking its GPS signal.

Police found that the suspect's vehicle was registered to Mosley-Coner, and the victim identified him “with 100 percent certainty” during a lineup.

No charges were brought against the accomplice.

“The reported accomplice has not been arrested; however, this case remains actively investigated,” MPD spokeswoman Monica Williams said this morning.

Mosley-Coner was taken to the Pinal County Jail and faces 28 years in prison.
