Subway crash in Queens: 2 people wanted for theft and accident of an unoccupied train in NYC

QUEENS, New York (WABC) – Police are searching for two people accused of stealing and operating an unoccupied subway train in Queens, causing an accident.

The incident was reported to police shortly after midnight on Thursday at the Briarwood subway station.

According to the New York Police Department, two unknown perpetrators entered an unoccupied train, operated it and caused an accident. The collision damaged the train.

According to police, no injuries were reported and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

They published surveillance videos and pictures of the wanted people.

A video shows the two suspects boarding and operating a subway train in Queens before causing an accident.

One of the suspects is described as a slim man. He was last seen wearing a blue tank top, red shorts and a black backpack.

The second suspect is described as a woman of medium build. She was last seen wearing a pink shower cap, pink sleeveless shirt, pink shorts and carrying a pink purse.
