Man shot after road rage in North Lawrence: Police

NORTH LAWRENCE, NY — A man was shot Monday in North Lawrence following a road rage incident, Nassau police said.

A 54-year-old man was driving his 2016 Ford pickup truck north on the Rockaway Turnpike when he became involved in an aggression incident with a man driving a dark-colored sedan traveling north on the Rockaway Turnpike around 8:45 p.m., police said. The two men did not know each other, police said.

The Ford driver pulled into the parking lot of the Five Towns Shopping Center, located at 253-01 Rockaway Turnpike, when the sedan driver also entered the parking lot and fired several shots at the man's Ford, police said. The sedan driver then fled northbound on Rockaway Turnpike, police said.

The Ford driver suffered a minor cut to his arm and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. No other injuries were reported and investigators are searching for the shooter, police said.
