Suspect sought in alleged road rage incident in Pike County

On Monday, September 16, at 8:19 p.m., Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans reported that his office received a complaint of shots fired in the area of ​​Fairview Road and Lapperell Road. This complaint allegedly stemmed from an incident of aggression between motorists.

The caller reported that the suspected vehicle involved in the alleged shooting was a red 2010 Chevy HHR. Pike County Sheriff's officers immediately patrolled the area but found the vehicle on Grassy Fork Road. A chase with the suspected vehicle ensued.

The pursuit ended near the 1000 block of Zion Road, where the driver allegedly fled into the wooded area toward Hackelshin Road. The driver was later identified as Josh Bailey, 43, of Williamsport. An arrested passenger was identified as Misty Rinehart, 41, of Bainbridge.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office, Piketon Police Department and Waverly Police Department, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit, assisted in the search.

Bailey was last seen wearing a black shirt and camouflage pants. Bailey is considered armed and dangerous. Please contact the Pike County Sheriff's Office at (740) 947-2111 if you have any information.

Warrants are issued against Bailey for aggravated menacing, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and fleeing and eluding.
