Free Abla and Ahmad Sa'adat! — Fight back! News

The Freedom Road Socialist Organization condemns the Israeli occupation for abducting Abla Sa'adat from her home in the West Bank. Abla Sa'adat is a staunch opponent of the apartheid system in Israel and the wife of Ahmad Sa'adat, the imprisoned Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

As resistance has grown, so has repression. Israel currently holds some 10,000 Palestinians in prisons, many without charge or any form of due process. Israeli prisons are hellscapes where torture is commonplace and the murder of prisoners by their guards is a daily occurrence. Zionist newspapers quote Israeli politicians calling for mass executions of prisoners, yet have the gall to boast about their “values and morals.”

The genocide against the Palestinians has been going on for almost a year now. More than 41,000 people are dead, many more are missing. This crime against humanity is enabled by the United States, by Biden and Harris, who are sending the money and the weapons to make it happen.

Last year, on October 7, the world witnessed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a bold move by the Palestinian resistance to launch a liberation campaign. Since then, the strength and tenacity of the Palestinian liberation movement has inspired people around the world. It is a beacon of hope for oppressed people everywhere.

In the coming weeks, there will be many protests and events in solidarity with Palestine, demanding an end to US aid to Israel and a severing of all academic ties to Israeli apartheid. Progressives and revolutionaries should do everything they can to organize these demonstrations. They are absolutely necessary. The authorities may try to intervene and respond with repression – those who do so should be viewed with contempt and defiance.

The prisoners of Palestine are heroes. They are behind bars because they dare to fight for freedom.

Stand by the prisoners and demand their release!
