Car thief starts ramming out of anger

A car passenger filmed on his cell phone as a man in a Dodge Ram began a heated argument with the driver, repeatedly crashing the truck into the back of the sedan. What the victim didn't know at the time was that the pickup had previously been stolen in a violent armed carjacking. This is the kind of scary situation no one wants to find themselves in.

Watch a fleeing Dodge Ram get wrecked by Arkansas State Police.

This footage shows the Ram repeatedly slamming into the back of the car as the two vehicles drive down the highway. What exactly enraged the suspect was not clear, but the victim tells police in the video that the car was going 100 miles per hour at the time, though we're not sure if that was miles per hour or kilometers per hour. Either way, we suspect the attacker was targeting something other than the man's current speed at the time.

The car thief and mugger then pulls out a gun and shows it to the other driver and his passenger. He continues to chase them and eventually rams the car so hard that it goes into limp mode. Luckily, the victims were able to get the attention of a police officer sitting on the side of the road at about the same time and the attacker ran off when he realized what was happening.

We've never understood why criminals do things like road rage, speed, or do other stupid things. Do they just feel invincible after committing another crime, like they think the police can't stop them? Do they just not care if they get caught?

In this case, the suspect had a previous friendly confrontation with police when he rammed another Dodge Ram into other cars. In that incident, police shot the man, who managed to get away. These are the types of people who are road rage-ridden, hitting other people, waving guns around, etc.

For this reason, we do not recommend engaging with an aggressor. It is entirely possible for an incident of road aggression to be one-sided, although often two or more drivers are involved, repeatedly escalating the situation.

If you find yourself in this situation, it's a good idea to alert the police along the way, call 911, and try to get away like these guys did. Still, someone could be chasing you with the intent of doing you harm.
