One person seriously injured, another arrested in Bangor shooting

A Mississippi man faces charges after police say he shot another person in Bangor Tuesday night. Police were called to Hogan Road in Bangor shortly after 9 p.m. after an altercation between Martavious Moore, 30, of Collins, Mississippi, and the victim. Officers say Moore pulled out a handgun and shot the other person. As of Wednesday morning, the victim was in critical condition. The victim's name was not released Wednesday morning, and police did not say if the two people involved knew each other before the altercation. Police went to the Hogan Road hotel where Moore was staying around 9:30 p.m., but he refused to come out. After hours of negotiations, Moore finally surrendered to police shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, refusing to yield arrest and disturbing the peace. More charges are expected. Police say they found the gun believed to have been used in the shooting, as well as a rifle, in Moore's hotel room.

A Mississippi man is facing charges after police say he shot another person in Bangor on Tuesday night.

Shortly after 9 p.m., police were called to Hogan Road in Bangor after an altercation occurred between Martavious Moore, 30, of Collins, Mississippi, and the victim.

According to officers, Moore pulled out a gun and shot the other person. As of Wednesday morning, the victim was in critical condition. The victim's name was not released Wednesday morning and police did not disclose whether the two people involved knew each other before the altercation.

Police went to the hotel on Hogan Road where Moore was staying at around 9.30pm, but he refused to leave the hotel.

After hours of negotiations, Moore finally turned himself in to police shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. More charges are expected.

Police said they found the firearm allegedly used in the shooting and a rifle in Moore's hotel room.
