1 teenager dead, 2 people injured in accident in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) – Local and state authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Simpson County.

At around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Simpson County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash in the 1700 block of Kummer Road, a news release said. The agency requested investigative assistance from Kentucky State Police Post 3.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Infiniti, driven by 18-year-old Jordan Klumpp of Portland, Tennessee, failed to negotiate a right turn on Kummer Road and left the road.

The vehicle's passenger, 19-year-old Alexander Woestman of Franklin, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Simpson County Coroner. Klumpp and another passenger in the vehicle were taken to Franklin Medical Center.

The investigation is being led by Detective Bo Hubbard. He was assisted on scene by the Simpson County Sheriff's Office, Simpson County EMS, Simpson County Coroner's Office and other KSP personnel.
