2 dead after accident between car and motorcycle on Park Street in Pinellas

Two people were killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a car on Park Street in Pinellas County Tuesday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Police said both the motorcyclist and the driver of the car were killed. A passenger in the car was also seriously injured.

Police have not publicly released the identities of the people involved. They said the driver of the car was a 24-year-old woman from St. Petersburg. The motorcyclist was a 49-year-old man from Mary Esther in the Florida Panhandle. The injured passenger was a 23-year-old man from St. Petersburg, police said.

The crash occurred at 10:47 p.m. after the woman stopped at a stop sign on westbound 46th Avenue North, troopers said. She drove in front of the motorcyclist, who was traveling northbound on Park Street, troopers said in a news release.

Both drivers died at the scene of the accident, police said.
