Cuban rapper Ovi arrested after being accused of brandishing a gun during a driving aggression incident near FIU – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

WEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – A Cuban rapper was arrested after authorities say he was filmed brandishing a firearm during a road rage incident near Florida International University.

Ovidio Crepo-Retureta was charged Wednesday with aggravated assault with a firearm, unauthorized display of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred Monday afternoon as the victim was traveling eastbound on Southwest Eighth Street under the Florida Turnpike in West Miami-Dade.

While the victim was driving, investigators say, he was nearly struck by a McLaren driven by Crepo-Retureta while changing lanes. Crepo-Retureta was following in a Lamborghini.

The victim then honked his horn and Crepo-Retureta pulled out a firearm, causing the victim to duck because he thought the suspect was going to shoot him.

The video shows the victim driving closer to Crepo-Retureta's car and the Cuban rapper again pointing the gun out the window.

The victim then took to social media to explain what had happened.

“The singer Ovi pointed a gun at me in Miami and threatened me,” the victim said in Spanish. “He aimed at me. I thought I was going to get shot.”

FHP cops arrested the rapper on Tuesday while he was driving a Lamborghini in Doral. They found a gun and drugs in the car.

Crepo-Retureta is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in West Miami-Dade on $6,500 bail and has an immigration warrant.
