Kelly Osbourne says her first rehab was “a lesson in becoming a better drug addict”

Kelly Osbourne says she learned “so many tricks” during rehab to continue using drugs after she was released.

“The first rehab I went to was like a university where I learned how to be a better drug addict,” she revealed in the new documentary “TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry & the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring,” which premiered Monday on Fox.

Osbourne, who struggled with addiction for years, added that she “learned so many things from the other addicts there that I never would have thought of.”

The former reality star claimed that many people threatened to drop out of rehab if they didn't get the medication they wanted, such as Ambien or Valium, and that they were often given “everything they asked for.”

The 39-year-old then claimed that several rehabilitation facilities were trying to exploit recovering addicts in order to get them back into their programs.

“They sit in front of the AA meetings [Alcoholics Anonymous] “They look for weak and vulnerable people who they encourage to relapse so they can then pick them back up,” Osbourne claimed in the documentary.

When TMZ founder Harvey Levin called this claim “hard to believe,” she swore “on everything” that her claim was “true.”

Elsewhere in the documentary, the former “Fashion Police” presenter said that when she was a teenager, doctors prescribed her various opioids without asking any questions.

“It started with Vicodin and ended with OxyContin,” she said. “It's much stronger and very dangerous.”

She recalled telling doctors she was “in pain” and they “just gave her a prescription.”

She also claimed that doctors would not call her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, about their daughter's prescriptions.

The mother of one began her journey to sobriety in 2017. In 2021, she appeared on “Red Table Talk” and revealed that her drug problems began at age 13 when she was prescribed opioids after tonsillitis surgery.

Kelly suffered a relapse in 2021 before getting sober again. In May 2022, she celebrated her one-year sobriety anniversary on Instagram before giving birth to her son, Sidney.

In the shocking document, Kelly even recalled that as a teenager she had filled her own prescriptions without her parents.

“I would go with an older friend,” Kelly said. “It's so crazy to say that now, in hindsight, because there's no way a 13-year-old could walk into a pharmacy and just pick up that kind of medication without some kind of parental figure being there.”

Kelly has spoken openly about her struggles with drugs and alcohol over the years, but today she is focused on raising her one-year-old son.

Just last month, the proud mother shared a video of her visit to the zoo with Sidney. “Celebrating with the animals at the zoo!” she captioned the sweet post.

Kelly secretly gave birth to her baby boy with Slipknot member Sid Wilson in November 2022.
