Three men are accused of attempting to kidnap and torture a roommate in a Jefferson County home

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado (KKTV) – Three men have been charged with first-degree murder after attempting to kidnap and torture their roommate, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said they learned of the situation around 10 a.m. Monday when a hospital worker said a male patient claimed he was bound and tortured for over 14 hours at a home on South Oak Court.

A bystander in the house was eventually able to take the 45-year-old victim to a hospital. The sheriff's office said he suffered injuries from being tied up, beaten, burned and whipped, and that one of the suspects also kicked him in the neck so hard that he lost consciousness.

The sheriff's office said the regional SWAT team was able to execute a search warrant and arrest all three suspects, but that they are also working to locate a fourth suspect.

The sheriff's office said 49-year-old Jason Carlson, 48-year-old Sherell Allen and 41-year-old Luke Anay were charged with attempted premeditated murder, second-degree kidnapping and first- and second-degree assault.

Carlson was said to be the homeowner in South Oak Court and Allen and Anay were linked to the house.
