Officers arrest North Carolina man on drug charges and seize 68 grams of fentanyl

A multi-agency investigation that included controlled buys has landed a Stokes man behind bars and charged with fentanyl trafficking.

Dominique Cherry is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center following his arrest on Friday, September 13.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, its officers, along with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the State Bureau of Investigations and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, arrested Cherry on multiple drug charges. The arrest was made as a result of controlled buys of fentanyl, with 68 grams of it being seized.

Cherry is being held on a $20,000 secured bond on two counts of trafficking opium/heroin (fentanyl), with additional charges expected.
