Two women are said to have broken into hotel rooms and almost run over an employee while escaping: Sheriff

Two women are suspected of breaking into a hotel room and attempting to run over one of the employees with a car while fleeing.

According to Sebastian Police, an investigating officer responded Monday to a call from Captain Hirams, 1580 US Highway 1, regarding a previous burglary.

The arrest affidavit states that the investigator met with the receptionist, who explained that after she arrived at work, she noticed a hotel charge for two movies in Room 107, one of the resort rooms. The receptionist noted that there was no reservation for that room, nor had anyone checked into the room, the affidavit continues.

The receptionist and housekeeping went into the room to check it and found that it was locked. Then one of the housekeeping ladies went outside and saw two women leaving the room.

The report further states that one of the maids asked one of the women for the room key, and one of the suspects said her friend had it. The two women then got into a black car that almost hit one of the employees.

Police were able to stop the suspects' vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, in Vero Beach and take the two to the Indian River County Jail. Officers were able to identify the two women as Kimberly Greer and Danielle Maroska, the arrest report states.

Police spoke to Greer, who said she and Maroska went to Captain Hiram's to meet Maroska's boyfriend, who allegedly opened the patio door, the report said.

However, when officers asked for the friend's name, Greer was unable to give them his name. Officers explained that the hotel room had been charged for renting two movies.

Greer was charged with breaking and entering of an inhabited dwelling, theft and aggravated assault without intent to kill. Maroska was also charged with burglary and petty theft.
