Police arrest Seaford man on drug charges after traffic stop – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police have arrested a 46-year-old Terrence Banks of Seaford, Delaware, on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Seaford.

On September 17, 2024, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the Sussex County Governor's Task Force was on patrol and observed a Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on Atlanta Road near Bucks Branch Road in Seaford with an equipment violation. Detectives stopped the truck and spoke with the driver, identified as Terrence Banks. During the traffic stop, detectives determined that the truck's insurance had expired and Banks could not provide proof that he was the registered owner of the truck. Banks was eventually taken into custody without incident after he resisted several verbal requests to exit the truck. A subsequent search of Banks uncovered approximately 7.68 grams of cocaine and approximately $1,821 in suspected drug proceeds.

After taking Banks into custody, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the Silverado, discovering approximately 750 grams of cocaine and approximately 23,793 grams of heroin.

Banks was transported to Squad 4 where he was charged with the crimes listed below. He was tried by a Justice of the Peace of Court 2 and remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution on $84,500 bail.
