Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold in New Jersey

A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in New Jersey for Wednesday's lottery drawing, but no one won the jackpot last night.

New Jersey Lottery officials will announce later Thursday where the lucky second-prize Powerball ticket was sold. The ticket was the only one in the entire country that matched five numbers but not the Powerball.

No one won Wednesday's $176 million jackpot, so the top prize in the next drawing on Saturday is $195 million, with a cash payout option of $99.1 million.

The winning numbers from Wednesday were: 1, 11, 22, 47 And 68The Powerball drawn was 7 with a power play of 4X.

In addition, no one won the second jackpot of $10 million on Wednesday. The winning numbers were: 16, 23, 50, 53 And 66The double play number was 14.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,388. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers and winning at least $1 million, while the odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 1 in 913,129.

The Powerball drawing takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
