Motorcyclist seriously injured in accident in Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – A 33-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash in Tippecanoe County Thursday morning.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found a crashed Dodge Charger and a Honda motorcycle. The 33-year-old motorcyclist from Monticello was found with “life-threatening injuries” and was subsequently flown to a hospital in Indianapolis. He was found wearing a helmet.

Although he was not wearing a seatbelt, the 22-year-old driver of the car remained uninjured.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver of the Charger attempted to pass another northbound car and crossed into the southbound lane, where he struck the motorcyclist.

The road was closed for about three hours while the accident scene was cleared and investigated.

The identity of the motorcyclist will be released once the family has been notified.
