School bus involved in accident in Grady County, no students injured

GRADY COUNTY, Georgia (WALB) – According to the Grady County School District, a vehicle drove into the back of a school bus Thursday morning.

The accident occurred around 6:35 a.m. on Highway 84, just outside the city limits of Cairo.

The bus was at a complete stop with the stop sign on and lights flashing when the vehicle rammed the bus from behind. The accident resulted in the vehicle being written off and the bus being significantly damaged.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the impact. Three students were boarding the bus at the time of the impact, but were not injured.

According to the post, the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver will be charged for the incident.

Additional buses picked up the remaining students on the bus route and brought them to school.
