Police chase in Milwaukee: 5 teenagers arrested after collision with a tree

Milwaukee police arrested five juveniles after a chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in an accident Wednesday evening.

It started near 29th and Roosevelt. According to MPD, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of one stolen in a robbery around 9:20 p.m. When officers tried to stop it, the driver sped off.

The pursuit ended near 54th and Lloyd, about four miles from where it began, when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a tree. The five teens got out and ran, but were eventually arrested.

All five teenagers were taken to hospital. It was confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.

Police identified the driver as a 16-year-old boy. The passengers were identified as a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl. The public prosecutor's office will consider filing a criminal complaint.
