Hawkins man arrested, accused of uploading child pornography videos

WOOD COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – A Hawkins man was arrested after investigators found evidence he uploaded illegal videos.

On March 20, an employee of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from an Internet service provider reporting one of its customers for allegedly uploading four videos labeled as “child sexual abuse material,” according to an affidavit.

According to records, the account belonged to 47-year-old Dallas Dewayne Hooks.

The investigator sought a search warrant for the account's contents and reviewed the files directly, finding four more videos and several pornographic images depicting “age-challenged teenagers.” On July 30, the investigator obtained a search warrant for Hooks' electronic devices. Authorities searched Hooks' home in the 200 block of Paradise Lane and seized a phone and two tablets, the affidavit states.

During an interview, Hooks admitted to downloading the child pornography, the document states. He is accused of possessing at least 50 images of child pornography.

Hooks was booked into the Wood County Jail on September 13, with bail set at $300,000.
