Hansi Flick sends a strong message to Barcelona players after defeat against Monaco

Hansi Flick sent a strong message to his players after his team suffered their first defeat of the season in the Champions League against Monaco.

After an early red card for Eric Garcia, Barcelona faced a tough task, but they were close to picking up a point until Monaco took a 2-1 lead in the second half.

After the game, Flick admitted that the sending off had been the deciding factor in the result, but urged his players to recover from the setback.

“Yes, the game has changed completely [after the red]”We always tried, we defended with passion. We made some mistakes but we tried to score goals. We had some chances but they deserved the win,” he told Movistar.

“We lost, okay, I told the players that, but now we have to come back stronger and recover for Sunday's game. We have to do our best and fight for the team. We lost this game, but we will keep fighting.”

Barcelona won't have to worry about the result for long, as they will face Villarreal this weekend. Flick's team are still unbeaten in La Liga and the German will want to continue that streak this weekend.
