Illegal casino and drug trafficking uncovered in Fresno

Police uncovered an illegal casino and drug trafficking operation in Fresno, resulting in two arrests, the seizure of three firearms and 5 pounds of methamphetamine packaged for sale.

Fresno Police received information that an illegal casino was operating at a home on Olive Avenue near Millbrook Avenue.

On Wednesday, detectives executed a search warrant and confirmed that not only was illegal gambling taking place in the house, but drugs were also being sold for off-premises sale.

Three firearms were seized, including a P80 9mm, a Keltec 9mm (reported stolen), and a Sig Sauer P238.

They also seized seven working slot machines and 5 pounds of methamphetamine packaged for sale.

Khamphonh Phaphonh, 48, was taken into custody on several charges, including possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon or drug user, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a large capacity magazine, and receiving or concealing stolen property.

28-year-old Kevin Pech was also taken into custody on probation.
