Lansing man arrested after nighttime search following shooting

Authorities arrested a Lansing man after an overnight manhunt sparked by a shooting early Thursday morning.

Officers with the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office responded to a North Lansing residence shortly after midnight following reports of shots fired during an argument. After the suspect fled the scene, a lengthy search began.

Yair Elver Perez-Raymundo, 19, was taken into custody without incident on Thursday afternoon.

The sheriff's office confirmed that a second person who fled with Perez-Raymundo was found unharmed. No other weapons were involved.

Perez-Raymundo is charged with reckless endangerment and menacing, both misdemeanors.
