Mike Williams “feels good” after playing more than expected in Week 2

After the Jets' loss to the 49ers in Week 1, head coach Robert Saleh said the team wanted to sign wide receiver Mike Williams on the field more and they have completed this mission against the Titans.

Williams played nine snaps against the Niners, but he played 35 snaps against the Titans in the Jets' 24-17 win. He was originally scheduled to play 20-25 snaps, but Williams said Tuesday that he had no problems with his knee and did not want to leave the game.

“It was a bit about the area that we were looking for, but I felt good. I'm not going to say let me go out of the game,” Williams said about Brian Costello of the New York Post“I mean, I want to play, so I hope the same thing happens in this game and then I go out and play.”

Williams was only targeted once during the game, but in a key situation, and Williams caught a 19-yard pass that set the stage for Braelon Allen's game-winning score. With Williams in good physical shape, there should be more throws his way in the coming weeks.
