Michael B. Jordan will direct and star in a remake of the classic gangster film “The Thomas Crown Affair.” Deadline reports.

Jordan plays Thomas Crown, a millionaire adrenaline junkie who, out of boredom, stages a bank robbery. Just when he thinks he's getting away with it, he falls in with a capable insurance investigator and Thomas may have just met his match – intellectually and romantically.

This is the third version of the film: the 1968 original starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, while the 1999 remake starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. Moonstruck director Norman Jewison directed the 1968 version, while Predator director John McTiernan directed the '90s version.

“The Fall Guy” screenwriter Drew Pearce wrote the script, and this will be Jordan's second film as a director – he made his debut with 2023's “Creed 3,” in which he also starred. Further information on the cast of the latest installment of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” including who will play the female lead, has not yet been announced.

Next up for Jordan is a currently untitled vampire film, reteaming with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. The film, which is set to hit theaters in March 2025, will star Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), Jack O'Connell (SAS: Rogue Heroes), Hailee Steinfeld (Dickinson), Wunmi Mosaku (Loki) and Jayme Lawson (The Batman).
