Teenager arrested and accused of killing victim with Glock switch, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man accused of shooting a victim with an illegal weapon.

On September 11 at around 8:09 p.m., officers responded to a shooting near Ridgehill Drive.

Officers found a male victim who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

During further investigations, 19-year-old Charles Cox was identified as a suspect.

According to MPD, officers attempted to locate Cox, which led them to a private residence on Old Village Lane, where a handgun with a Glock switch was recovered.

Cox is currently in police custody and is charged with premeditated murder, evading arrest and illegal possession of a firearm.
